At The Habitat Foundation, we believe that purposeful businesses have the potential to be powerful allies in environmental stewardship. The Habitat Group and The Habitat Penang Hill have been demonstrating how companies can embed connections to nature and sustainability into their operations while inspiring others to live more consciously.
Over the past few years, we have engaged with companies to work on various environmental initiatives. Employees are involved in hands-on conservation and efforts toward sustainable living.
Our projects with different corporate partners have inspired people to take collective action to drive change, bit by bit.

Since the founding of The Habitat Foundation, we have partnered with institutions, from primary to tertiary, around the world to foster environmental stewardship in future generations. Our long-term collaboration with schools and institutions has allowed us to build close relationships with students, teachers, lecturers, and others alike.
Our education partnerships are built upon the shared goals to create informative yet fun and exciting experiences for learners. This can take the form of field courses, gameplay, training workshops, module development, and more. Contact us to find out how THF can help your institution bring nature into education.
The Habitat Penang Hill is perfectly placed to serve as an outdoor classroom for children of all ages to learn about the natural world. Our nature trails and canopy walkways afford the opportunity for memorable encounters and unique perspectives of the plants and animals of the forest canopy as well as the forest floor.
To optimise the potential for learning in the forest environment, we are proud to offer our very own Habitat Rainforest Explorer Programme. This is a specially designed resource for Scientific Field Exploration to complement the teaching and learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). There are five modules in the Programme, and each has been customised for specific age groups, from ages 4 to 17.
Beginning with the first module, which provides a companion for pre-schoolers exploring the forest habitat, the modules increase in depth and complexity as they invite students to learn about ecology and natural ecosystems.
The Habitat Penang Hill provides educators with a safe yet stimulating setting for the outdoor component for topics covered in the school curricula. Learning becomes a breeze as students immerse themselves in the forest under the guidance of our Environmental Education team.
The Habitat Rainforest Explorer programme provides a springboard to engage students with more and more sophisticated topics as students continue to visit rainforests over their school career.

Kindergarten kids ages 4-5 years old. Children will be encouraged to describe their sensory experience with appropriate vocabulary and learn about the basic needs for animals to survive in their rainforest habitat.

This encourage students to work scientifically by asking simple questions, identifying and classifying things they observe as they explore the rainforest.

This is to encourage students to work scientifically by recognising that living things can be grouped in a variety of ways. To learn about the fascinating ways different organisms have adapted to live in the rainforest habitat.

Students will identify the major producers (trees) contributing to the supply of soil organic matter and major decomposers (soil organisms) responsible for the cycling of nutrients and energy in the ecosystem.

Objective: To develop students’ skills in conducting field surveys to document abiotic components (soil pH, ambient temperature & humidity) and biotic components (population of plants) in a study plot.
Are you looking to provide gap-year youths with impactful experiences centered on nature and conservation? At The Habitat Foundation, we support apprenticeships and meaningful learning opportunities that inspire the next generation.
We are open to partnerships with program curators, educational institutions, and organisations to integrate conservation-focused experiences into gap-year programming. Through hands-on fieldwork, we aim to equip young individuals with valuable skills and knowledge to connect deeper with nature and community.
The Habitat Foundation is committed to funding strategic conservation initiatives across Malaysia by working closely with communities, scientists, academic institutions, government agencies, and organisations. Since our establishment, we have taken a strategic approach to grantmaking, one that combines knowledge of where conservation actions are needed most with a firm belief in the power of supporting people and grassroots organisations as powerful agents of change. We are proud to witness even small investments seed inspiring transformations, and observe pilot projects become sustainable and scalable, demonstrating potential to other landscapes. Now in our 8th year, we have initiatives of various scales in almost every state in Malaysia, built on a culture of support and collaboration across the sector.
If your organisation is looking to fund projects but is unsure where to invest strategically, we have built a robust platform for administering grants, working in close collaboration with a wide network of on-the-ground partners.

Like any ecosystem, we’re still growing and evolving. And your feedback helps us thrive!
