Operationalizing the Al Sultan Abdullah Royal Tiger Reserve
This project focuses on strengthening prey populations to support wild tiger recovery in the ASARTR landscape. BORA plays a critical role in implementing on-the-ground measures to improve prey abundance and habitat conditions. Key objectives include enhancing habitat connectivity, increasing carrying capacity for tigers, and ensuring sufficient prey availability across ASARTR and adjacent areas—laying essential groundwork for long-term tiger conservation in the region.
Bringing Back Our Rare Animals (BORA) is a nonprofit working to prevent the extinction of endangered species and support their recovery in the wild. Its work includes species population recovery, habitat restoration, and improving food availability. BORA received the Hornbill Award in 2021 for its efforts to mitigate human-elephant conflict through habitat solutions. Actively collaborating with partners, BORA focuses on conserving Malaysia’s globally threatened large mammals and strengthening ecosystems where they live.
